The problem

Most merchants have never had their statement explained.

They pay it every month without knowing what each line is. And statements are written in ways that make that easy to do.

Important information is missing

Some acquirers leave key details off the statement.

Charges are easy to miss

Some add charges that are easy to overlook.

Two bills, one cost

Some send one bill for the terminal and another for card processing, so the full cost is never in one place.

Same charge, different names

Providers name the same things differently, so comparing one with another is nearly impossible.

How it works

From confusing statement to clear quote in three steps.

  1. Enter the statement

Type or paste each amount, card type by card type. Statement missing a rate or a fee? The built-in tools work it out.

  2. See the real cost

Get the monthly and annual cost, the effective rate, and a bill check that shows when what they were charged does not add up.

  3. Show the saving

Your rates sit side by side with theirs, with the saving over 1 to 10 years and a clear quote you can send.

What you get

Everything you need to explain a bill and win the switch.

Bill check

Compare what the merchant was charged with what the figures add up to. A gap is a good reason to ask questions.

Side-by-side comparison

Every card type, fee and charge, their cost against yours, with the cheaper side in green and the dearer side in red.

Savings over time

Turn a monthly saving into what it adds up to over 1 to 10 years, so the decision is easier to make.

Missing-figure tools

Statement shows turnover and fees but no rate? Work out any missing rate, turnover or fee, or average a card type that is charged at different rates.

A quote worth sending

A clean three-page quote with your details on every page: the pitch, the comparison, and the savings over time.

Eleven currencies

GBP, USD, EUR, AUD, NZD, ZAR, CHF, SEK, NOK, DKK and PLN, with pence, cents, Rappen, öre or grosze labelled correctly for each.

What the merchant receives

A quote that explains itself.

Page one leads with the saving. Page two compares every line. Page three shows what staying put costs over time, and what happens next.

Page 1

The pitch

£1,367.30

saved in the first year, with their cost now against yours and where the saving comes from.

Page 2

Side by side

19 lines

compared one by one, from every card type to rental and extra fees, with the saving in its own column.

What staying costs

over 10 years, shown year by year, with clear next steps and how to reach you.

“Once merchants understood their own bill, the conversation changed. It stopped being a sales pitch and started being help.”

Questions

Straight answers.

Is the calculator really free?

Yes, for now. No sign-up and nothing to install. It starts empty, with a button that loads made-up demo numbers so you can try every part, and you can create quote PDFs with your own name and contact details. Your figures are saved on your own device. Accounts and paid plans may come later.

Do you see the figures I type in?

No. The calculator runs in your browser and the figures you type are not sent to us. They are saved on your own device so you can come back to them. We only see page visits, and only if you accept analytics cookies. More on the Trust and security page.

Which statements does it work with?

Any of them. You enter the figures yourself, card type by card type, so it is not tied to one provider. If a statement leaves out the rate, the turnover or the fees, built-in tools work out the missing figure from the other two. Reading a statement automatically from a PDF is planned, not built yet.

Which countries and currencies does it support?

It works in GBP, USD, EUR, AUD, NZD, ZAR, CHF, SEK, NOK, DKK and PLN. The card types follow UK and South African statements most closely. Presets for US tiered pricing (qualified, mid-qualified and non-qualified) and for Australian and New Zealand statements are planned. Until then you can map those lines to the nearest card type.

How much will it cost?

Nothing today. If we add accounts and paid plans later, the price will be on the Pricing page before you are asked to pay anything.

Is the saving guaranteed?

No. Every figure is an estimate from the numbers you enter. A merchant's real saving depends on their actual card mix and volume, so always check against a recent statement.

Can merchants use it themselves?

It is built for payment consultants. Merchants see the results in the clear quote you send them.

Who built it?

Juan, a payment consultant who spent years reading merchant statements and explaining them to business owners. You can read his story on the About page.
